Potty Training

Layla turned two years old on May, 10! She has been very interested in the potty for a while now and we have been sitting her on it from time to time. Two days ago I decided it was time to start getting serious.

Yesterday we went to Walmart and I let her pick out her very own potty. Princesses of course. She thought hard about Minnie Mouse, but after big sister shared her opinion that is all it took!

We came home and she was so excited! She didn't have any accidents yesterday and went pee and poo!!!

She woke up this morning and her diaper was dry and has gone pee once! I am hoping we are on our way to being potty trained!

Our New Home

We moved into our new home November 30. We were supposed to be in October 20. I will never move that close to Christmas again! I am an OCD decorator, so I couldn't stop until I had all my Christmas up and my house looking cute to host Christmas for my family. However, I LOVE our home so it was worth the wait and the headache.

We built our house and I love how everything turned out.

This is our dining room. I have a to-do list for some of the rooms. In here I am going to reupholster the chairs and paint the piano. It probably won't happen until this Summer, but IT WILL happen! =)

I love having so much cabinet and counter space. No, I never have anything out on my cabinets. I do not like clutter and neither does my hubby.

Our breakfast room is much larger than our old house so we got a new table. I am happy to say that we have eaten 99% of all of our meals at the table. The location lends itself to family dinners.

We have very tall ceilings in our living room and foyer. Ella had to be in at least one picture! That is her playroom and she and Layla play up there so much.

Very large fireplace, which I LOVE!

This is our living room. My sweet hubby let me get a new sofa and loveseat in here. I just need to get a new chair (this one matches our old couch which is now in the playroom).

Our master bedroom. We got new bedding and i reupholstered the headboard. I do need new curtains in here. There is so much sunlight in here in the mornings and I do not wake up early!

I love the dresser and nighstands in here. I bought all three pieces for so cheap on Craigslist and painted them. I used Annie Sloane chalk paint and it took forever. First you paintm then clear wax, the dark was, then clear wax again!!!! It took so long, but it is so worth it!

Our master bath still needs handtowels, decorative towels, and more stuff on the walls.

This is the girls playroom upstairs. I need to get more toy storage. I want to do cubbies under the TV so that the cable and DVD player aren't sitting on top onf the Barbie dreamhouse!

I needed artwork in here so I painted this canvas. I am going to take the girls pictures in the Spring and put lots of un colorful pics up.

This is Ella's room. It is all the same stuff as our old house, her room is just bigger. Oh, and it is not hot pink with polkadots.

This is Ella's bathroom.

It is so girlie and pink and she loves it!

Layla's room is the same stuff again, but a bigger room.

This is the guest bathroom upstairs.

Our poor guest room is sad and dull, so until it is pretty and happy I am not going to post pics. Hope you enjoyed seeing some pics.

Christmas Morning

My parents came down the day before Christmas because we were supposed to be getting snow, sleet and rain the next day so they got to be here that night and morning to help us open presents. The girls got their matching pajamas on and off to bed they went.

Then we headed down stairs to set up Santa's presents. Trey also had to help Dad put together their present for Ella.

They woke up the next morning, so I sent Trey upstairs so I could take pictures. Ella woke up, but we had to wake Layla up. One thing you need to know about my girls, they DO NOT enjoy being woken up!

Ella headed straight for the toys.

She is current;y obsessed with Barbies and mermaid, so when I found this I knew she would love it.

Layla could care less. She headed straight for Granny's lap for some snuggling.
While Ella continued to open her stocking.

Layla finally got into it when she saw what her sister was doing. Then she discovered her love for tearing paper.

She also loves candy, so when she spotted that she was happy!

I loved that both girls were excited and tore through their presents. Then we had to clean up and prepare for the rest of the Jones crew heading over for lunch.

Trip Home

The girls and I made the trip to my parent's house so my Mom and I could take the girls the the light display there. IT WAS COLD! I bundled the girls up, put them in the car and headed out. Ella fell asleep in the car and was exhausted. We had to wake her up and boy was she cranky! We stood in line for them to visit Santa. This was their third time to see Santa, and Ella had done great two times, but she was not having it now!

Ella would not even walk in the building where Santa was and Layla just cried! Oh well, it will be a great picture when she is older! (Side note: I don't really blame Layla because this Santa was a young skinny version, so not at all what she had seen before!)

They did enjoy walking around and looking at the lights though.

This is Ella's new pose, it's impressive, right?!
