Just Say No!
Since our experience has been SO fun, I decided to take a few pictures so y'all wouldn't feel left out! My Mom ran the hammer drill to get up the tile. She is a pro!
I ran this machine to scrap up the linoleum and my arms are so sore today from pushing it so hard. After three days we are just about done. I am going to lay tile in their laundry room tomorrow morning. We will see how that goes!!
What I have learned in the past three days is, the next time my Mom asks me to come help her around the house...Just say NO!!

My Momma
She has spent a lot of time with us and she has enjoyed loving on her grandbabies and I have really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with her. Getting these three to pose for a picture is next to impossible!!! It sure was fun trying though. She got Ella this little swimming pool and Ella just loves it!The first night I decided to fill it up, thinking that the next day it would be nice and warm. Well, miss thang decided to jump in, clothes and all while I was filling it up, so we stripped her down and in she went. She was just splishing and splashing and LOVES her pool. I can't keep her out of it!

Happy Father's Day
And chewed on a plastic spoon.
My sister, sister-in-law and I had a platter made with Ella, Hunter & Caleb's footprints. It is just perfect and my Dad loves it, except that Ella's footprint is labeled Hunter and Hunter's is labeled Ella. We had to go have our kiddo's feet painted and re-do the plate this last Thursday, but it isn't ready yet, so we showed Dad what he would be getting and will trade with him when the correct one arrives.
Isn't it so cute??!! Ella knew she was supposed to put her foot on it!
Trey got a cute poem about a Daddy's tools and it will go in our office. He is so hard to buy for and won't ever really tell me what to get him. Ella had fun helping the boys open their presents, but was a little more fascinated with the crayons. At home we have a box of eight, but Granny and Papa have the big 64 box and she just loves to open it, dump them out, and put about half of them back. See... She also enjoyed having her Papa read to her. She loves reading and she loves her Papa, so she was in hog heaven!
My Mom fried chicken (she makes the best!) and we ate lunch and dessert and then Trey, Ella and I headed over to Trey's parents to give his Dad his card and hang out with them. Trey's little brother Zachary is in town and I think little Miss Ella is really taking a liking to him. He has been living in Kentucky and has only been around Ella twice before, so she has been loving on him the last two days to make up for time lost.

Plans
Last weekend we were in Austin (and you have been bombarded by pictures in the last two posts). We were on a high coming off of a great weekend when Trey walked in the door at 9:30 Monday morning after having gone to work for only a few short hours, and let me know he has been laid off. It was completely unexpected. We were both in shock. I was sitting there thinking..."How can this be, he is the only one working, I don't work, what are we going to do, what is going to happen" all in about ten seconds.
The next thing I did was say to Trey one of my Dad's favorite scriptures "God is the blessed controller of all things" (1 Timothy 6:15). We both believe this wholeheartedly. I am so glad that God IS in control and not me, because obviously my plans haven't worked out yet, so why now would I want to plan our lives? One of my favorite verses is "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)
I sent out about 12 resumes Monday afternoon. He received calls from two different companies on Thursday and had an interview on Friday. My Bible verse for Friday was "Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6) I probably prayed for Trey 50 or 60 times while he was in his interview.
One of the companies was 10 days of traveling, 10 days off. Well, 10 days of him traveling, away from me and Ella just did not sound good to me. He wasn't thrilled at the idea either, but Trey has always put his family first and if it came to that, he would do it. "Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest." (Luke 12:25-26) "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)I prayed God would provide Trey with an amazing opportunity, maybe this was it? Again, my plans aren't that great, maybe that was God's plan. I also prayed if it wasn't God's plan that he wouldn't hear back from them...well, he hasn't.
The other company is 12 minutes from our house. They are a larger company and Trey left his interview on Friday with a great feeling. He had a trial-run yesterday and also enjoyed his day. He received a call today and went back for a third interview and received the great news that he was HIRED!!! "Your father knows what you need before you ask him. So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today's trouble is enough for today." (Matthew 6:8b, 31-34)
With this job, Ella and I can be covered under Trey's insurance, which is such a blessing! There are so many more great things that go along with this job, but I am not going to get into that. My point for this post was to tell you that while I have plans, God's plans are so much bigger and better. Trey wasn't looking for a job. He was content where he was, not happy, but content. God didn't want that for him! We were both terrified for about an hour, then we gathered ourselves, prayed, handed it over to God and look what he did!!
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them." (Psalm 145: 18-19)

Trip To Austin: Part Two
I used this weekend to take several photos of all of us together. It is so hard to get one of the three of us!
The wedding was at the Bar Mansion in Austin, which is a really old house and Ella just loved climbing the stairs. Yes, we were very close by supervising (as in one step below). My two loves. I love this picture!!
My sweet thang and me. I LOVED my necklace. My mom came in town the day before and I had asked her to bring her pearls, but she forgot, so we went shopping for a necklace and this was exactly what I wanted. I love when that happens!Raelyn needed a little something to eat before it was ceremony time. Family pic!The wedding was short and sweet and thank goodness because it was outside. The reception was indoors, we all would have melted otherwise! The flowers were so pretty. Miss Ella was anywhere and everywhere running and climbing on everything and looking precious while she was doing it. She was a hit!

Trip To Austin
This last weekend Trey, Ella and I headed to Austin for Trey's little brother, Zachary's, wedding. We left Thursday and that night we went tout to eat with Trey's family at the Hula Hut. Jack, Ella's Grandad, and Ella had a grand time playing during dinner. It was past her nap time and she had been in a car traveling all day and just didn't want to sit still. He kept her entertained though and we all had a great time. Ella was loving on her daddy when we were in the hotel. He just loved it!!Here's Ella's Grandad with his two favorite girls. Raelyn is Ella's almost 5 month old cousin. He was in hog Heaven with these two around all weekend. Friday morning we went to a bridal luncheon at La Madeline's. Ella had a grand time taking all of the sugar packets out of the glass containers and putting them back, and then throwing them on the floor for Lindsey and I to pick up. Family pic in our hotel room. You know I was all about taking pictures this weekend. I knew Robin (Trey's Mom) would want pics, but would be too busy with all the wedding stuff to worry about taking them. I tried to fill in for her in that area. The bride, Mary Kate, is in the middle. Lindsey is on the left, she is married to Trey's older brother, Shane. Ella and her Gigi (Great Grandmother). Her Gigi took out a little glasses case that looked like a small purse and Ella put all of the sugar packets she could in it. I am telling you, I still am finding sugar packets in her carseat and in my car!!
That night we had the rehearsal dinner at the County Line on Lake Travis and it had such a pretty patio with swan and turtles. It was soooo humid, but very pretty. Ella and her cousin wore matching outfits. They looked adorable!! So, of course Lindsay and I both wore yellow to match our girls and Shane and Trey both wore yellow Polos and Robin was wearing Yellow, so we were the yellow family.
The only one not wearing yellow was Jack.
Ella was a little over taking pictures at this time, can you tell.
Flowers...I love flowers.
I got the cutest picture of Robin with her three boys. Zachary has been living in Kentucky the last couple of years, we live in Dallas and Shane lives right outside of Wichita so it isn't often that everyone gets together, so I really wanted to get a picture with all the brothers.
Just the boys...
Family Photo towards the end of the night...not a good idea. Ella would rather do this!! Haha! And the she was sacked out. The rehearsal dinner was so much fun and good food. Ella had a great time running around and kept her Grandad on his toes!!
Stay tuned for wedding pictures in the next few days.
