Show Us Your Life - Wedding Reception & Honeymoon

This week on Kelly's Korner it is time for the wedding reception. We were married September 8, 2007 at 7:00 in the evening and we had a dinner & dance following the ceremony. The reception was over at midnight and seemed to go so quickly. We had so much fun dancing and having a good time with all of our friends. We had an open bar so I think quite a few people had a really good time if you catch my drft.

The wedding party rode in a trolley from the church to the reception site.

Here we are on the back of the trolley loaded up and ready to go...and kissing! We seemed to do a lot of that!

Here is the wedding party inside the trolley. It was only about a five minute ride, but was a cute way to get everyone to the site at the same time. (I love how the boys in the front of the picture just look so excited about this! I know all guys just looove weddings.)

There aren't just a ton of places in Wichita Falls to have a reception, and there are only two that hold more than 150 people.. We had approximately 300, so with a seated dinner there were 30 tables of 10, and we still had to have room for a dance floor.

Everyone walked in and was introduced by the announcer, then Trey and I entered and went straight into our first dance.
Then it was time to eat. We had spicy shrimp & chicken pasta, baked tortellini, and chicken parmigiana. I had a little of all three and a nice glass of wine...ahhh! It was Cabernet thought (red wine) so I had to be careful not to get it on my white dress. Can you imagine if I did? Ha!

Then we had a little dessert! Trey's cake was a two tier chocolate cake with chocolate covered strawberries on top. (And lots more on the sides for everyone to eat.) Our monogram was on top of the cake. Oh, and I didn't even get to have ANY of his cake. It was gone so quickly!

This was my cake. It was a five tier vanilla cake with fondant calla lilies and the icing was made to look like the rouching (folds) on my dress.
Here we are cutting the cake. Funny story. The first little bite that Trey cut went down my dress. I wasn't about to fish it out in from of everyone so he had to cut another bite. I am pretty sure it stayed in there all night, until later...we won't go into that! =) That small little bite would be the only taste I had of my cake. It was gone in the blink of an eye too!

This table was set up between the two cake tables. I had wedding pictures of each set of parents, grandparents, and siblings, along with a few bridal portraits on a table draped with a champagne colored silk and orange rose petals and candles.

And here are the centerpieces. They had curly willow and a berry that grows on a branch (can't remember the name). The bottom of the vase had the silk fabric gathered at the bottom; Some tables had champagne silk and the others had persimmon. There were orange rose petals scattered, candles, and baby pumpkins, gourds, and corn for the fall theme. My brother-in-law had to get them from Canada because it wasn't quite time for pumpkins and such here in Texas. What a good guy!

And by the exit we had a million, well, not really, but it sure seemed like it (over 300), brown boxes with orange ribbons filled with Reese's Pieces.

We went to the Riviera Maya, Mexico. We stayed at the El Dorado Royale Resort & Spa. It was so nice and our room was just feet away from the ocean.

It was an all inclusive resort and they had 8 different restaraunts so we wen't to a different one every night. We got this dessert one night. So cute!

This was one night at a little outdoor bar. They had signers and dancers and you could sit on these little swings. I loved it!

We were there for 7 days/6 nights and by the time it was over we were ready to return home and being our real life as a married couple. Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane. I sure did! I haven't looked at these pictures in a long time.
